Ingredients

Rice

  • 1 cup Japanese short grain rice (Rinse and soak for 20-30 minutes before cooking.)

Mayonnaise

  • 3 tablespoons Japanese Kewpie mayonnaise (Substitute with high-quality mayonnaise plus rice vinegar and sugar if needed.)

Soy sauce

  • 1.5 tablespoons Soy sauce (Use low-sodium soy for better salt control.)

Butter

  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter (Clarify if cooking at higher heat.)

Garlic

  • 3 cloves Garlic (Finely chopped.)

Eggs

  • 2 large Eggs (Lightly whisked.)

Parsley

  • 2 teaspoons Finely chopped parsley (Can substitute with scallions or chives.)

Sea salt

  • To taste Sea salt

Instructions 

  • Cook the rice and set aside.
  • In a pan, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  • Add rice, soy sauce, and mayonnaise; stir well to combine.
  • Push rice to one side, scramble eggs on the other side, then mix everything together.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and season with sea salt to taste.
